It’s our 2nd anniversary, which we’re calling our Mustang II anniversary, which is great because just met a super cool dude who brought one to the big Mustang meet in Charlotte this week. In honor of our 2nd anniversary, we’re giving everyone 20% off any annual plan with the code: mustang2yearanniversary (you can also click that link directly for Vinyl membership or use the code when you checkout). Plus, if 12 more people become Autopian members David will buy a Pontiac Aztek and live in it for a week. Everyone wins!
There are many reasons to become a member and it’s pretty cheap to do so right now. For $56 (or less than $5 a month) you can be a cloth member and get access to our mostly weekly email, see fewer ads, and get access to special posts like today’s Tales from the Slack, and special offers like discounts on t-shirts.
If you become a Vinyl member (on sale for $80) you’ll get all of the above, a cool sticker, and a great new t-shirt every year you’re a member. Velour is all of that plus a slick badge (for $200). And Rich Corinthian Leather, which is now just $800, comes with all that plus random stuff we send you.
Plus, anyone who becomes a member this month gets a shot at the Valtteri Bottas swag.
Why are we harping on this right now? Well, partially because I want to hit our number immediately so we can get the Aztek before I travel to LA. But mostly because membership helps us keep this place going.
Our goal is to balance membership, partnerships, and ads in a sustainable way that gives enthusiasts a website they love and want to read. That’s it. That’s our goal. Do something people love to read and we love to write — for the rest of our lives.
So, what are you waiting for? If you’ve been on the fence this is your sign to become a member.
If 12 of you do it we can get an Aztek and, also, slow down on the membership ask posts. Other than random sales, we do try to do the one big drive in Spring around our anniversary and the big one on Black Friday.

Buy an Aztek?? You could almost literally get one for free. Even back then GM literally couldn’t give them away!!
Hi there – I signed up, but
thanks
Howdy! Thank you so much for becoming a member. You can always email me at matt at the autopian, you can definitely disable autorenew: https://autopian.memberful.com/account
you did it you finally did it I finally signed up
I signed up mostly because I believe in this website and I enjoy the content but gosh darn it if I don’t want to see David suffer through an arbitrary self imposed punishment.
I don’t even know if it’s punishment! He keeps acquiring Aztek odds and ends. I think he might be legitimately stoked about the possibility. Hell, I would be.
He’ll probably park it at his apartment and sleep in it whenever he wants some quiet time away from the lady friend, or when she’s mad at home, or maybe even just for fun sometimes.
You’re the Hero we all need! Keep up the good work!
Rather than a Pontiac, how much do we have to raise for David to spend a week in a Fiberfab Aztek?

I signed up because I am 100% sure the Aztek experience will make for some fascinating writing. Thanks to you all for the great site
Listen folks, I’m a cheap bastard, much more so than our beloved D.T. and yet I paid for a membership and it has been worth very penny, no regrets here!
Subscribe, even if it’s the lowest tier ( like my cheap ass self) but just do it, the Autopian has a good thing going here, they are so close to having D.T. living in an Aztek!
I say, whom amongst us doesn’t get just a little tiny bit of pleasure seeing D.T. suffer?
Subscribe now!
*Disclaimer, I have no association whatsoever with the Autopian at all, I just want to see it succeed for the sole reason that it offers something different.
Wait, so I have to work here for the rest of my life?
Yes, indeed!
I don’t make the rules, jobsworth, etc.
Are you suggesting there’s a better place to work?
I’m a gentleman of leisure and pleasure. I do not wish to have my activities interrupted by such trifles as ‘work’.
I did my part to contribute to David’s suffering. Did you?
Please! I really want David learn his lesson about offering us these opportunities. We are all terrible sadists who truly relish these chances to make fine people like David endure undeserved indignities so that we feel better about our own miserable existence. We simply can’t resist. He needs to stop tempting us.
Now, will I point out how any unhoused person forced to lived in their auto might find this whole thing to be in terrible taste? Will I mention that choosing to make light of a situation in which they almost always unwillingly find themselves might be considered insensitive, cruel and possibly mean? Will I feel shame and horror at my own amusement of David’s suffering indignities others would kill to avoid? Do I have the amazing skill of Debby Downer at ruining the fun of almost anything? Stay tuned for answer to these and other questions on next week’s episode of Aztek Living.

You’ve certainly done your part thanks.
Glad to! It’s folks like you that make it worth it. 🙂
You don’t know how it makes me feel that knowledgeable members actually accept my opinions that sometimes disagree.
Ngl I would subscribe to Aztek Living Magazine (it’s like ‘Sunset,’ only on wheels).
I just upgraded to vinyl, thanks to the IRS lol
WOOHOO!!
Question: will the seller of the Aztek be informed of the imminent
shenaniganrycontent development? 🙂Absolutely!
Is it OK if I buy one that isn’t two-tone?
I vote for a Rally so the cladding is body color!
I love that he’s asking like he isn’t already sizing up a very specific Aztek…
I already told him which one to buy on the phone last night.
Absolutely!
I suspect we (you) may not be adrift in a sea of choices, so we (commentariat) will trust you to find one that will work.
Or you already have… 🙂
I’ll allow it!
