One of the blessings and curses of working for a car site like the Autopian is that you have the motivation to collect all sorts of cars and motorcycles. I work from home so none of what I buy has to be a reliable daily driver. That means I have no reason to stop myself from buying bad vehicles or taking on stupid projects. Well, buying a bunch of vehicles can get out of control and every now and then it’s smart to let some things go. It’s fine!
But wait a minute, there is another way to reduce the size of your fleet and you don’t even have to deal with the weirdos of Facebook Marketplace. Clear_prop noticed something interesting:
Transferring a vehicle to your partner so it doesn’t count as yours is peak Autopian thinking.
Someone warn Elise not to sign the title on any rusty Jeeps.
Geoff Buchholz proposes an interview question for future Autopians:
At the least, I feel like there’s a check-box on the job application.

[ ]5-10

Canopysaurus closes us out:
Grail fails wind up as sales.
As Jason showed today, automakers used to know how to have affordable fun. Sure, the Suzuki X-90 was a two-seat weirdo staddling different genres, but Usernametaken has a point:
It was:
-Cheap
-Fun
-Thrifty on gas
-Open top
-Didn’t take itself too seriously… something, something this is why we can’t have nice things
Admittedly, this is why I actually love the look of the Tesla Cybertruck. I’d never buy one new, but I appreciate that it doesn’t look like another generic crossover with an angry face.
Earlier today, Rivers wrote about a $100,000 book at Pebble Beach that you know is about the development of the Bugatti Type 59, but cannot know what’s actually on the pages without buying it. That’s just weird and our readers aren’t into it. Trenton Abernathy hit the mark:
This sounds like an NFT with extra steps.
Boulevard_Yachtsman is hilarious with:
To paraphrase:
The Bugatti Type 59 Book presented here for the first money tells the story of the revered money’s money, money history, and lasting money. In addition to the extensive money on the money, the book is complemented by money and money-money-money photographs, such as the first money since money of the money surviving Monies at Money Money in $$$$.
Have a great evening, everyone!
Yeah. My daughter has been “Gifted” with two trucks and a Panhead. My son has one truck, three motorcycles, two scooters and a CanAm Maverick. So yeah, wore that one out. I can’t stop buying old trucks. Tried intervention but the guy had a nice f100….

Here’s the problem… the Mazda MX-5 Miata did all those things too… only better.
What is up with the ad placement on this site recently? Pop-ups have at least stopped, but infinity scroll ads are ruining the experience. My understanding from previous posts were paying members wouldn’t see this type of ad interface. Can we get a membership update on what is occurring with the site?
Thanks Mercedes! Gotta say, that one kinda wrote itself given the subject matter.
Also, this was playing on a YouTube playlist as I was reading cotd and thought it was just perfect timing for setting a excellent mood as I head out from work this evening!
