You Can Now Become An Autopian Member For Less Than $5 A Month

Cloth Level Blowout

It was almost exactly a year ago that we launched the “Cloth” tier of membership, a plan that was a little cheaper and, in spite of its name, did not in fact come with any cloth. To make it easier to join we’re lowering the cost of the Cloth membership to just $50, or less than $5 a month* for the foreseeable future. Sign up here!

What if you’re already a member? Many of you signed up in October of last year and probably saw that we discounted plans throughout the year for various sales. The great news is that if you’re a Cloth Annual member it’ll automatically renew at the lower price. You don’t have to do anything! If you’re a Cloth Monthly member it’ll stay at $7 a month. Why? Mostly because we have to pay a fee every time you renew, so the larger amount helps us cover this difference. Also, we want you to become a yearly member because it makes it easier to make decisions about potentially hiring people.

There are numerous perks of the Cloth tier, but I suspect this plan is mostly for people who want to support us in the style of a Patreon since this place cannot operate without the support of our members. For all the articles we produce, I think $70 was a good deal, which makes $50 a year a great bargain. If we can get 1,500 Cloth Annual members that pays for the salary of a writer.

Still, there are perks, so let’s talk about them:

  • Access to Member Only posts like Tales from the Slack and Only Fanbelts
  • An almost-weekly Member Only email with event previews, BTS info, and post previews
  • Access to the Member Party Room on our Discord
  • Fewer ads (specifically, no sticky video player)
  • Early and discounted access to events, discounts on merch

That’s a lot for less than $5 a month!

Obviously, if you’d like more we do have higher tiers. Autopian Vinyl has all of the above plus an annual t-shirt and member sticker, plus renewal gifts like custom pins and a shot at random SWAG. Velour has all of that, plus a member badge, more renewal gifts, and a custom badge. Finally, Rich Corinthian Leather encompasses these many gifts as well as a vial of rust from one of David’s many project cars and a special invite to tour Beau’s collection.

If I sign up, will the notification bell actually begin to work on my Android phone? Cause it doesn’t now!! It’s currently ringing with a 4 in the middle but pressing it does nothing…

Vinyl Tier and Seats for life. All but 1 of my IRL vehicles have vinyl seats. It’s also the only one made after 1990.
