The Autopian’s sister-company, Galpin, has a lot of talent in its ranks. I’m not just talking about the visionary executives, the sharp assistants, the one-of-one accountant, all the great salespeople and techs — no, I’m talking about talented content creators. Shooters, editors, and on-air talent. In fact, there’s an entire Galpin Media arm that does so, so, so much more than just advertising, and this latest project — My Porsche Story — is just a tiny hint of the potential that team has when it comes to video production. Let’s talk about it.

If you were following The Autopian’s Instagram account closely in August, then you probably saw this.

Chris, video production top-dog at Galpin, ran what had to have been the cleanest, most epic film shoot in human history. The resulting video — which compares the 2004 Shelby Cobra Concept (Daisy) against a Gen III Viper and C6 Corvette — is going to be unbelievable:

Now that I’ve experienced Galpin Media’s capabilities, I’m not even slightly surprised by how awesome My Porsche Story looks:

The short of it is that Galpin has a Porsche store called Porsche Santa Clarita. Beau, being a car nut, isn’t the kind of car exec/salesperson who just sets up a dealership and puts out ads — no, he is a car nut who goes hard. The dealership, for example, has a freakin’ top-notch Porsche museum called the “Wunderground” in its basement:

There’s even a website that describes what the cars are/why they matter:

There’s also a German restaurant in that dealership:

Plus, Porsche Santa Clarita has one of the biggest Cars & Coffees in all of LA the first Sunday of every month:

Anyway, you get it: It’s a Porsche dealership, yes, but it’s also run by legit Porsche nerds, with David O (a real car dude) as their social media guru. That’s why we all went to Rennsport Reunion, that’s why we’re all going to Luftgetkuelt, and that’s why “My Porsche Story” is a thing you can look forward to on Sunday at Porsche Santa Clarita and shortly thereafter here on The Autopian.

Here’s a draft of the press release:

Matt Farah, Magnus Walker And More Featured In ‘My Porsche Story,’

Galpin Motors’ YouTube Series Premiering This October

The new bi-weekly video series highlights some of the world’s most influential Porsche enthusiasts.

Galpin Motors  is premiering its new digital series, “My Porsche Story,” at the official post-Luftgekühlt brunch on Sunday, Oct. 6, at Porsche Santa Clarita. The captivating video series will feature inspirational stories from some of the most influential figures in the Porsche community, including Magnus Walker, Matt Farah, J Ryan and Bruce Meyer.

“My Porsche Story” celebrates the passion and dedication of Porsche enthusiasts, showcasing their unique journeys and connections to the iconic brand. Episodes will be released bi-weekly, offering viewers an intimate look at how Porsches can change lives in sometimes unconventional ways.

Fashion designer-turned-Porsche legend Magnus Walker tells the tale of the search for his “dream car,” a first-model-year 930 Turbo. The story of how he found a 1975 Porsche 930 rolling chassis and later serendipitously ended up with its original engine is truly fascinating. Similarly fascinating is Matt Farah’s story about how his Porsche 718 Spyder sank to the bottom of the ocean, and how the replacement car that went to DeMan Motorsport for a heart transplant ended up, in Farah’s eyes, as “The Ultimate Porsche.” Then there’s J Ryan, cofounder of LA’s hallowed “Good Vibes Breakfast Club” weekly pilgrimage along Angeles Crest Highway. The beautiful way Ryan recounts sharing a Porsche 997 911S with his late wife Nicole as they cruised to Newcomb’s Ranch every Friday is an incredible tribute to her and to what has become one of LA’s most treasured institutions.

The first three episodes — which feature Walker, Farah and Ryan — will debut at a public launch party that doubles as the official post-Luftgekühlt brunch, to be held at Porsche Santa Clarita on Sunday, Oct. 6. The Cars & Coffee event, which runs from 9 a.m. to noon that same day, will have brunch available for purchase.

“We are beyond excited to debut this project,” said Beau Boeckmann, president and CEO of Galpin Motors. “We had such a great experience working on ‘Pimp My Ride’ and ‘Car Kings,’ but this is the first time we’ve done our own production and launched a series. All of us can’t wait to share these incredible stories with car lovers around the world.”

Check out the preview of “My Porsche Story” on the Galpin Motors YouTube channel and subscribe to see the latest episodes as they debut. For more information on the post-Luftgekühlt brunch or the “My Porsche Story” screening (be the first to see the first three episodes, in person!), follow Porsche Santa Clarita on Instagram and Facebook.

I actually helped write most of that press release, though I’m unsure if that’s the one Galpin used. In any case, watch that trailer! And then keep an eye on Galpin Motors’ YouTube page, because “My Porsche Story’ is going to be legit.

Me: 911s are so played out these days, they really are not worth the money

Also Me: I daily drive a 70s 911 and wouldn’t trade it for the world

PS: If you want one, look into mid years (74-77) with the infamous 2.7. 2.7 is a great engine, but it was coupled with dumbest solution to reducing emissions; a restrictive, heavy, cast iron exhaust called “thermal reactors” that got REAL warm, trying to burn up the emissions to make it run cleaner. What it actually did was super-heat the exhaust studs, which then pulled out of the magnesium case, which required an expensive rebuild. By now, almost all of the 74-77 cars have a normal exhaust, so it’s not really an issue, and most of them that were rebuilt have case savers (helicoils) installed in the case to prevent it from happening again. Sure, you can pay way more and get 78+ 3.0, or an SC, but…. I’m just saying, the 74-77s tend to be bargains for effectively the same car.

Does the German restaurant do delivery or takeout?
Have you eaten there?
If so what’s your favorite order?
